                                              Generational transition

When change is radical, there is no generational transition. To believe that change is radical, is to believe that yesterday was completely bad, which means there was nothing good in it. It is like saying that life is black or white, but not gray. But the reality of life does not show this. Yesterday cannot be completely bad or completely good. It cannot be completely right or wrong. The history of yesterday is the history of people. The work of yesterday is the work of people. And people do right and wrong. They do good and bad. To believe in radical change is to deny or reject this basic human nature.

If a person does a lot of bad things, he will be remembered by the next generation because of his bad deeds. But that does not mean that he has no good deeds. Because of the amount of bad deeds, his good deeds will not be easily remembered. On the other hand, if he does a lot of good deeds, his good deeds will be told to the next generation. But this does not mean that he has no bad deeds, he is an angel. Because of his much good deeds, his bad deeds will burn out more easily than to be transfered. Because they are quickly forgotten rather than remembered. The ability of a work to be remembered is its quantity.

If we do a lot of good, we will be remembered with kindness by many people and in the hearts of generations. But if we do a little, we will be forgotten more easily than remembered.

Similarly, if we do a lot of bad things, our name will be remembered for our evil deeds in the future. But if we do a little, it will remain a story that will not be passed down from generation to generation.

When good exceeds bad, it is considered good. When bad exceeds good, it is considered evil. When right exceeds wrong, it is considered wise. When wrong exceeds right, it is considered foolish. Good, wise and wicked people have a history. But fools have no history.

If a person is wise but wicked, generations learn not from his wickedness but from his wiseness. If he is wise and good, they learn from his goodness and his wiseness. But if he is foolish, since he has nothing, generations learn nothing from him. Foolish, they do not have a historical trace, not only that their fingerprint is not known whether they have it or not.

Although it is said that bad knowledge is more dangerous than ignorance , even ignorance does not make one evil, it makes one an accomplice in evil. Ignorance does not make one wise but a fool. Wisdom is freedom from evil. But foolishness is freedom from knowledge.

It is to be empty from knowledge of good and evil. It is better to be free from knowledge than to have knowledge of evil.  It is impossible to hold everything and abandon everything. But it is possible to hold something and abandon something by selection. Therefore, let us correct our choices. Because it is our choices that make us human and beast. It is what makes us angel and devil.

An angel and a human angel are different. An angel is perfect. But a human angel is not perfect. Similarly, a beast and a human beast are different. A beast has no mercy, it is completely cruel. But a human beast is not completely cruel. Perhaps, a human heart can be broken gradually.

A man has to learn a lot from a human angel. But he has to learn a little from a human beast. Whatever he learned whether a little or a lot, the main thing is that he has been learnt. Because change is the result of learning. What is useful in learning is not uprooting something, but looking it from the root.

It is not the right way uprooting yesterday from the root. But uprooting the problem from its root is absolutely right. Uprooting weeds is uprooting the problem. But uprooting the root is like uprooting the world. Likewise, radical change is uprooting the world, not the weeds. Therefore, it is not beneficial, but harmful.

Radical change is diligence with the absence of meekness. It is  inability to learn from both human angels and human beasts. This will hinders the future journey that can exist as a country.

Radical change destroys generations, not builds them. Burns history, not continues them. For those who are ready to learn, history is a treasure. For those who are not ready, history is a burden. Lucy, Aksum, Fasiledes, Jegol, and Lalibela are treasures for those who know them. But for those who do not understand them, they are nonsense.

True change is not about abandoning everything, but about abandoning the bad and embracing the good. Then we will have a history that is not built as a new one, but a history that is built in progress. A generation that does not accept weapons, but a generation that accepts history and work, will be built. A generation that does not destroy with emotion, but builds with thinking, will be created.

Radical change is more likely to create chaos than to bring about change. Because in the process of radical change, something that touches the hearts of the people that should not be touched can be destroyed. A national identity that should not be lost can easily be lost. A country can be left without a stake, and without a pillar.

Therefore, change should not be radical but rather reformation. Reformation is about fixing what is broken, correcting what is wrong, refining what is mixed, and adding something new to what was good. The principle of this change is not to forget and discard history, but to preserve and build on history and move forward. Generational succession is realized when change become reformation.

Sustainable change is realized by reformation, which is the result of kindness and humility. Kindness is needed to give. Humility is needed to receive. If the giver is kind, but the receiver is not humble, it is a problem. If the receiver is humble, but the giver is not kind, it is difficult to accept and continue history.

Therefore, the previous generation must be kind enough to teach and give. The next generation must be humble enough to learn and receive. Then the generational transition will be realized.

''Reformation is essential for generational transition.''
